La Gelateria

It's summertime, and it's been oh-so hot. Perfect for some shave ice or ice cream!!! You scream, I scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!

My list of ice cream places to try included La Gelateria, Via Gelato, and Il Gelato. Well, I've got 2 down, one to go!

I took my friend, Danny, to La Gelateria one day after a paddle-boarding sesh. It was ever-so-needed! We were parched and burnt!

Located on Cedar Street, La Gelateria is on a small, narrow street behind Walmart. They have a tiny parking lot, so try to get a space in there. Street parking is tough.

Now, LG is not a store. It's the actual factory where they make all of the ice cream that they distribute, but they have a refrigerator with all flavors for customers just stopping in. I have to say, this is the best gelato I have ever tasted. It's tough for ice creamers to get their flavors so spot-on, but LG has got it down!! Flavors are so distinguished and tasty- the right amount of bursting flavors and subtlety.

My favorites? I highly recommend Watermelon (it was my fave!), Green Tea/Kaffir Lime/Lemon Grass (the most intense and perfect combo- if you like lemongrass like I do, you will love this one), Strawberry Guava (on the tart side), Ginger (not spicy at all), and Mac Nut (with bits of mac nuts throughout the gelato).

Still have yet to try their Blueberry, Cucumber, and Cantaloupe, Blackberry Cabernet, Coconut and Dragonfruit. And I've heard that the Kona Coffee is a favorite among customers.

$2 per cup, $4 per pint for Sorbetto (non-dairy), $5 per pint for Gelato (dairy). Hours M-F 8am-5pm.

PS- How refreshing do these gelato/sorbetto pints look?! My mouth is watering just writing this!

From bottom, clockwise: Green Tea/Kaffir Lime/Lemongrass, MacNut, Strawberry Guava, Watermelon and Ginger!
