Cafe Duck Butt UPDATED!

I absolutely love Duck Butt's flavored soju. They taste so good, but are oh-so deadly!!! I had the chance to try some new flavors this time- Latté, Peach, and Fuji Apple. My favorites so far are Latté, Yogurt and Fuji Apple. Go give 'em a try! Thankfully, we had some food to soak up all that alcohol!

Latté (tastes like McDonald's Iced Coffee), Yogurt and Peach Soju!

Fuji Apple with fresh-cut fuji slices! Tastes like Apple Juice.

Mochiko Chicken with furikake and Ddukbokki (Spicy Mochi Stir Fry).

One of the best Mochiko Chicken ever! So tender and tasty, and I love the furikake sprinkle on top.

Disney's Aulani Resort- 'Ama 'Ama

A couple of friends and I spent one of the most wonderful Sundays down at Disney's Aulani Resort. Located in Kapolei, right before the Waianae Coast, it is a literally a world in its own. While I was still on Oahu, I felt like I was off on a faraway land, on vacation, and loving every moment. Sitting by the pool, sipping a Lava Flow in a frozen pineapple was one of the best parts.

We stayed until late and had to decide on where to go for dinner. 'Ama 'Ama seemed like the best option, plus we got seated at a table overlooking a gorgeous view of the lagoon. Simply breathtaking. Food was spectacular. Big portions, a cool breeze, and even some hula girls dancing around us. I had one of the best Chopped Salads here too! I highly recommend it.

It was the perfect one-day staycation I could have asked for. Once we took the on-ramp back onto H-1, I immediately felt back to reality. Back to the daily grind. I guess Disney really is made of fairytales.

Chopped Salad- perfect combination of furikake, capers, chopped egg, tomatoes, avocado, crispy bacon bits, and wonton strips! SO delicious!

Bread and butter with red and black salt. Sprinkle the salt on the butter and then put it on the bread!

Whole Salt-Crusted Island Sustainable Catch- Opah with seasonal vegetables and Limu, Tomato and Maui Onion Vinaigrette

Whole Salt-Crusted Island Sustainable Catch- made a second way! This was mine, and it was ono! A huge piece of fish!

Chic Country

These are not only the perfect summer shorts, but they are oh-so comfy! I've collected about three Reverse shorts so far from Bamboo Sky. (You can my pink ombré shorts here!)

Many others prefer to style these floral studded Reverse shorts with an oversized knit sweater, but with a knotted silk button-down is totally my style! I added some boots for a casual feel.

Prima Kailua

Sister restaurant to The Whole Ox Deli, Prima opened up in September of last year, but has quickly become a popular restaurant with the young, old and trendy. Located in a Kailua Strip Mall that once housed Blazin' Steaks, it is fairly easy to find on Hekili.

Once you walk in, the vibe is surprisingly casual- there were families dining on pizza, couples at the bar sipping on wine, and some other tables of old friends catching up over dessert. I was shocked at how laid-back this place was! It could be described as a trendier and more modern pizza joint that serves alcohol.

It is on the smaller side. We sat a table away from the corner, and the waiters kept bumping my friend's seat trying to get in there. A bit awkward and uncomfortable. I think that was a negative here.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the pizzas! I definitely recommend the Prosciutto Rucola (Prosciutto and Arugula) pizza.....but ask for a soft poached egg on it too! You won't regret it. My friend, Brian, ordered the Eggplant Pizza which was on Special that night. I don't like eggplant, but it was full of flavor. Another good pizza to try.

We also had their Panang Curry Clams to start. The broth was absolutely delectable. It had a tinge of lemongrass in every bite, which I LOVED. Only thing? $19 for clams? Really?! I admit they were great, but nothing "out of this world great." Even Nico's doesn't have clams for 19 bucks!!!

I have to say that I liked Prima, but it was really on the expensive side for modern Italian cuisine. 80 bucks for the two of us. Whoa.

Panang Curry Clams

Loved the citrusy and lemongrass flavor to the curry, plus the crispy anchovies (ikan bilis) added a unique flavor and texture.

Eggplant and Goat Cheese Pizza

Ricotta Fritters for dessert to go (and to eat in the IMAX Dark Knight Rises line)!

Raging Crab

Raging Crab is one of three seafood-in-a-bag joints. Kickin Kajun opened up a little before Raging Crab, however, Raging Crab has seemed to take over the competition in just a short amount of time. Then, there's Crab City in Kaimuki. If you're familiar with Hot N Juicy in Las Vegas or The Boiling Crab in LA, this is the same concept.

Located in Samsung Plaza doors down from Sikdorak, Raging Crab is literally raging with people. Jeff and I went on a Monday around 7:15pm-ish and it was pretty busy! Once it hit 8pm, there was a short wait.

I love the décor- typical seafood joint decked out in light wooden walls, fishing nets, buoys, glass fishing floats...almost reminds me of Bubba Gumps! There are even TVs throughout the large restaurant- perfect for your man, women! Trust me, though, I don't believe that they will be watching the TVs, since this place is very hands-on. Getting your hands dirty here is part of the process! Thankfully, there is a sink in the back to wash off.

For all you dainty ladies out there, there is just no way to be graceful when dining here. By the end of the meal, all 10 fingers were laced in red oil and bits of crab meat, and Jeff embarrassed by what I looked like, handed me a hand towel and told me to clean myself up! But hey, all foodies get a little messy sometimes. That's how you know we just love our food!

Things to know:
1. Don't forget to get your ticket validated. Validation at Raging Crab = free parking! If not, it's $5 per hour.
2. Not a good first date place. You get messy. Messy is actually an understatement! If you're not embarrassed, hey, could be a great icebreaker!!
3. Don't wear your favorite outfit. And definitely WEAR THE BIB. (Gloves are also an option).

Verdict? Would I come back? Jeff and I ordered the Captain's Special which includes fries, 2 bowls of rice, all seafood (plus your choice of Dungeness Crab or Lobster- we got the crab which was $10 more), 2 corns, and sausage. For two people, I think it was too little. Jeff was still a bit hungry (and I could have eaten more) after and we decided to get Bubbies for dessert. For me, $60 was pricey. If and when I go back, I will get the seafood ala carte instead of getting the Captain's Special. Plus, it came with about 3 or 4 crawfish, which we wasted. Not one of my favorites.

As for sauce, get "The Works." It is wonderfully tasty, and a bit on the spicy side!!! Beware, we ordered it mild, but for me, my mouth was on fire!

Good service!

Crawfish- definitely an acquired taste

Samurai Ice Cake

Sometimes, the slang for food pictures are referred to as Food Porn, just because of the way the food looks. Delicious. Delectable. Enticing. Luscious. Gratifying. Scrumptious. Appetizing. Charming. Appealing. Divine. Succulent. Mouthwatering. Enthralling. Tantalizing. Titillating. Tempting.
